Evidence: Injury Prevention

Injury Prevention Web: Web site devoted to disseminating information on injury prevention. Site presents a rich, comprehensive collection of categorized links which provide access to the websites of groups dealing with various facets of injury prevention.  Also provides links to:

  • SaftetyLit: Injury Prevention Literature UpdateThis site is a collaboration between the World Health Organization and the Graduate School of Public Health at San Diego State University.  It hosts a variety of recent research about injury prevention, with a searchable database of abstracts and articles in over 500 journals from multiple countries.  Access to articles and abstracts is free.
  • SafteyPolicy: Injury Prevention Policy. Similar to SafteyLit but with a focus on policy issues.

Evidence: National Guideline Clearinghouse (ARHQ), School health guidelines to prevent unintentional injuries and violence. MMWR Recomm Rep 2001 Dec 7;50(RR-22):1-46.

  • Annual Reviews: Researchers and editors affiliated with Annual Reviews, a nonprofit organization, synthesize and filter critical reviews by leading scientists in 29 focused disciplines within Biological, Medical, Physical and Social Sciences. Public Health is among the disciplines reviewed. Annual Reviews' search feature, and abstracts can be used online by non-subscribers.
