Healthy People 2010 Priorities by Federal Region

Alabama: Alabama Department of Public Health , Healthy Alabama 2010.

Alaska: Alaska Department of Health and Social Services/Public Health, Healthy Alaskans 2010.

Arizona: Healthy Arizona 2010.

Arkansas: AccessArkansas Arkansas does not have specific a state plan for Healthy people 2010, but this site has a number of relevant documents on various Healthy People 2010 topics, such as diabetes, obesity, physical activity, injury prevention, oral health and so forth. Latest report appears to be 2001 (as of June 2004). See also Arkansas Department of Health and Human Services.

California: 2005 County Health Status Reports. Uses selected Healthy People 2010 indicators to monitor progress of state health. Contains Excel spreadsheets of individual county data.

Colorado: Colorado Healthy People 2010 Objectives.

Connecticut: Roadmap to Health  For additional information on topics related to health promotion, disease and injury prevention from the State Department of Health, visit: Healthy Connecticut 2000 Final Report and Connecticut Health Community Initiatives.

Delaware: Delaware State Department of Health and Social Services.  Delaware does not have a specific document on Healthy People 2010 but has a number of documents on relevant topics, such as diabetes, HIV and STDs, maternal and child health and so on.  Use search function to find documents.

District of Columbia: District of Columbia Healthy People 2010.

Georgia: Live Healthy Georgia addresses many Healthy People 2010 issues. See also Georgia Department of Public Health: Health Status Measures (pdf)

Hawaii: Healthy Hawai’i 2010.

Idaho: Bureau of Community and Environment Health - Site has links to variety of programs for health promotion, disease and injury prevention. Not specific to Healthy People 2010 but same topics.

Illinois: Illinois Department of Public Health. Site has links to a variety of programs and reports relevant to Healthy People 2010.  Use search function to find reports by topic. 

Indiana: Indiana Minority Health Disparities Report. Provides comparision of leading causes of death among racial and ethnic groups in Indiana.  See also Indiana State Department of Health.

Iowa: Iowa Department of Public Health  Search for Healthy Iowans 2010 links to press releases, abstracts, and parts of report in pdf format. Additional links to Office of Community Health, Office of Health Promotion, Prevention and Addictive Behaviors, and Tobacco Use Prevention and Control.

Kansas Kansas Department of Health and the Environment does not have specific Healthy People 2010 site but has a number of programs that target Healthy People 2010 objectives, including diabetes, asthma, nutrition and obesity, tobacco, cancer and injury prevention.  See Office of Health Promotion.

Kentucky: Healthy Kentuckians 2010.

Louisiana: 2005 LouisianaState Health Report Card (pdf)

Maine: Healthy Maine Partnerships is a new initiative that creates a collaboration among four programs and issues relevant to Healthy People 2010 goals: tobacco, cardiovascular health, community health and school health. See also Maine Department of Health and Human Services.

Maryland: Department of Health and Mental Hygiene: Leading the Way to a Healthy Maryland.  Provides Goals and Objectives and data for 2000-2004 for related Healthy People 2010 Objectives.  (PDF document, indicators begin on page 3).  Source: Maryland FY 2006 State Budget, Volumne 2 Health, Hospitals and Mental Hygiene.

Massachusetts: Healthy People 2010: Leading Health Indicators for Massachusetts.

Michigan: Michigan Critical Health Indicators. 

Minnesota: Healthy Minnesotans: Public Health Improvement Goals 2004.

Mississippi: Use the Mississippi State Department of Health search function (enter "Healthy People 2010") to seach for relevant documents. Mississippi also has a Mississippi State Department of Health: FY 2005-2009 Strategic Plan .  See also Mississippi State Health Statistics.

Missouri  Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services.  The State of Missouri has a number of topics related to Healthy People 2010 Objectives, including Healthy Babies, Healthy Children and Youth, Tobacco, Oral Health, Sexually Transmitted Diseases and so forth.  Click on "Topics A-Z " to find specific area of interest.

Montana: Montana Department of Health and Human Services.  Use A-Z Index to find specific area of interest.

New Hampshire: Healthy New Hampshire 2010.

New Jersey: Healthy New Jersey 2010.

New Mexico: New Mexico Department of Health home site provides links to sites and documents on selected Healthy People 2010 objectives, such as injury prevention, immunization, HIV-AIDs, pregnancy prevention, breast cancer and tobacco.

New York: County Health Profiles - Has selected indicators related to Healthy People 2010 objectives, as well as additional indicators. State Health Department Home Page has links to documents and sites related to selected Healthy People 2010 objectives under “Info for Consumers,” “…Researchers,” and “…Providers.” See also: Healthy Lifestyles at Work & Home.

North Carolina North Carolina 2010 Health Objectives.

North Dakota: Healthy North Dakota.

Oklahoma: Oklahoma State Board of Health, 2006 State of the State’s Health: A Strong and Healthy Oklahoma  Click on specific report at the bottom of the screen. User may also access past annual reports (1997-2005).

Oregon: Oregon Department of Public Health provides links to other sites, documents on Healthy People 2010 topics, including asthma, adolescent health, oral health, immunization, cancer, environmental health. OR Center for Health Statistics: Oregon Health Trends Newsletter also has documents on Healthy People 2010 topics, including injury prevention and violence, tobacco, teen sexuality and pregnancy, youth suicide, minority health, HIV and others.

Rhode Island: Healthy Rhode Island 2010.

South Dakota: South Dakota Office of Health Promotion has links to reports on selected Healthy People 2010 topics, including diabetes, cardiovascular health, oral health, school health, and tobacco. (Additional topics may be accessed by going to the site index).

Tennessee:  Tennessee Health Department: Health Fact Sheets. Click on topic of interest.  See also: Better Health: It's About Time!
